The world famous clairvoyant reportedly passed away in San Jose, California at the age of 77. Her Website announced her death and it was reported that the loved psychic spent her final hours at Good Samaritan Hospital. The cause of the famous psychic’s passing is still unknown.

According to the nytimes.com, Sylvia Browne was born in Kansas City and is survived by her husband and two sons.

Sylvia Browne was born Sylvia Shoemaker on Oct. 19, 1936, and grew up in Kansas City, Mo. “Her powers manifested themselves when she was 3 years old,” according to the website of the Society of Novus Spiritus, a Gnostic Christian organization she founded in 1986.

Her biography on that site says she earned a graduate degree in English at an unspecified university and worked for 18 years as a teacher in a Catholic school, and that she trained as a hypnotist and “trance medium.”

Survivors include her husband, Michael Ulery; two sons from a previous marriage, Christopher and Paul Dufresne; three grandchildren; and a sister, Sharon Bortolussi.

Sylvia Browne spent years as the “house” psychic of sorts for the popular Montel Williams Show and made several appearances on Larry King Live. She spent a large portion of her time writing her more than 40 books, many of them became New York Times bestsellers, with popular titles such as “Secrets & Mysteries of the World,” “If You Could See What I See,” “Insight” and “End of Days,” where the clairvoyant talked about her interpretation of various end-of-the-world prophecies.

Our thoughts and prayers and those of Sylvia’s many devoted followers go out to her family.
